I'm pretty sure you all want to go different directions for clones, de-cloning them in effect. That's a good thing, but imo it's not enough. Clone should really have different animations on most attacks. That was one of the few things Brawl did terribly right. Dat brawl warlock punch

Thats gonna require a good deal more manpower.
You can make the characters extremely different without adding in new animations, its all about interpretation.

I never hacked melee, only brawl. Animations aren't hack friendly yet?

As far as I know they arent. SD remix had like less than 5 new animations total iirc.

It's possible to swap a character's animations. For example, Bowser's d-air in SD remix was just his item down throw animation. Giving a character another character's animation always looks bad and may or may not crash the game. No one has figured out how to go and actually edit animations, but there's at least been a little progress on that.

Really hope to see a lot of this in Melee Minus, especially for the clones. New aerials/tilts by using the item throwing animations would be SICK. I've had a few different ideas like a new grounded up b for Fox and Falco where they'd use their "grabbing character, up throw" animation to shoot lots of lasers straight up. lol Things like that is what I'm hoping for with Melee Minus, making characters feel really new.

This could remove his independency (so it's basically the opposite of de-cloning), but if Ganondorf's F-air was a slowed down Knee that had darkness graphics and had massive knockback (like a Falcon Punch or maybe even a Ganon u-tilt)... all my dreams would come true

Oh we have a lot of these planned now, we've found some pretty good animations for a couple of characters that I think you'll like.
