The Melee Minus Staff is really enjoying the majority of suggestions you guys are giving us. However there are some things you guys may need to be aware of that may limit how far we can break these characters. - We cannot make new animations. A lot of you guys are suggesting things that would require us to make a new animation. As far as Melee modding is concerned we cannot do that at this time. Swapping existing animations works fine.
- We cannot make new attack subactions. That doesn't mean we can't give taunts hitboxes.
- There are certain limitations in Melee's PSA code that prevent us from doing specific things. In short, we can't give Ganon Brawl Minus's WP (damage only goes as high as 255), healing moves (there is no damage heal function), or anything of the like.
That said, anything else is totally viable.

this post really did need to be made.
e: i put something in red because i wanted to further empasize it. this means that, for example, dk can be given his back roll animation to give him something that resembles is project m dash attack. also, lots of characters can be given their item dthrow animation to get a nice looking meteor. falco can have his ftilt as his fair so you dont have flutterhush garbage. this kind of stuff is fine.

well, taunt has a subaction
giving it hitboxes would just require relocating some data, which is SUPER TEDIOUS AND NOT WORTH IT

Can't moves heal on hit (like G+W's judgment 7)? You know that it doesn't actually heal on hit right? It spawns a food item if there's items on. Also the effect isn't even present in the moves subaction, if you copy the move to another character the food doesn't drop, super weird.

Not disagreeing but I want to quote something on the topic of healing: The thing is, can we programatically heal a character upon doing a move--especially progressively. Yeah, we can heal a character upon hit [see Mr. Game and Watch 7], but progressively would take up too much PSA room, especially since we cannot add new data to movesets without completely relocating the data. I'm going to do some testing with those grey hitboxes. For those of you who don't know, grey hitboxes are these hitboxes that deal no damage or hitstun. If those are able to have an effect on hit, I could make them size 65535 (which is much larger than all competitive maps, even the ones that will probably be added to the game) and repeat like four times to make a cheap "heal" effect since hitboxes can heal on hit. The problem with this, though, is that the healing would rise by a factor of three in teams because it would be hitting three people.

i can always look into figuring out how to relocate data in a way that isnt absolutely gross.
