Can we give Falcon his 64 Up-Smash? It'd be a great point of differentiation from Ganondorf and it'd let him safely pressure people on platforms. It's also got much better endlag than his current Up-Smash. Only foreseeable problem I can see with this is that it would require a new animation. As far as I can tell, you can only use existing animations for moves. For example, in Melee SDR they wanted to re-purpose Bowser's D-Air so that he'd have a more useful option in the air. They accomplished this by using Bowser's downward aerial item throw animation, applying a meteor smash hitbox, and adding a fire effect to the attack. So unless there's a very similar animation to the 64 Up-Smash, this may not actually be possible.

His "throwing items up while on the ground" animation should fit for that.. kinda. Not animation wise, but hitbox wise? Could do something really similar to his 64 Up Smash.

To be frank smash 64 uo smash is more punishable, but since shield stun is greater in that game it doesn't feel like it. If you wiffed both moves falcons would be more punishable in 64.
As for the idea it's pretty sound, but I feel like this style of move would be better on ganon.

Usmash would become an insane OoS option [and give free knees?] if this could happen. However, existing animations only makes me wonder how to do this... maybe make it work like 64 with the raptor boost uppercut animation sans fire???
