Side B: not helpless when ended in air
Up B: provides a small jump, giving a little bit of recovery. maybe the size of yoshi's short hop?
Down B: Bigger Stars, much more damage
Dair: last hit a strong spike
Uair: doesn't cancel jump momentum
Bair: hits are much stronger
Other possibilites:
Easily parry Jump out of shield a safe option + incredibly easy Shield duration increased 2 Midair jumps, possibly with a little less height Light armor applied to first jump, make yoshi a midair beast

Infinite armor on both jumps.

I'm personally not a huge fan of using super armor. That shit is annoying to play against, and it's a pretty lazy way to patch a character up. Instead of adding more gimmicks to a character, the objective should be to make him good. There definitely is a difference.

As a Melee Yoshi main I really dont want this character to turn into straight up bullshit you know? The armor thats already on the jump is perfectly fine.
Another aspect of having Up B popping up being a negative is that Yoshi wouldnt be able to take advantage of the universal land cancel that characters are getting on projectiles. I really dont want to miss out on abusing that.

Yoshi's second jump has less height, but can be used several times, like in the yoshi's island games.

Again I really think we should be trying to stay true to Yoshi as a Smash character here

As I said above, I think changes should do at least one of two things:
1) Be creative and unique 2) Either amplify a strength (not to a dumb extent) or fix a weakness
For example, I think a great idea for Yoshi would be to extend his parrying window, but not to a point where it's stupid easy. I'm thinking maybe two or three times what it is now.

If you do extend parry then 2x should be good enough. I like the idea really.
Be cool if you could slightly change Down B's trajectory by holding left/right. Side B could also use a slight priority increase along with a much faster cancel.

Literally, I think Yoshi is perfect is Melee already, EXCEPT that he can't jump out of shield. Fix that, and Yoshi will be good.

It's more of a matter of breaking characters a little than just making them "good."
Sure, jumping OoS would be great, but that doesn't really do enough to break him.

But it helps get closer to broken right?
If you want broken, give Yoshi multiple jumps. Like 3 midair jumps

I wholeheartedly agree, but remember the point is to BREAK characters, not balance them. That being said, I still believe that Yoshi's armor on his jump should be buffed a bit, maybe 240 instead of 120? So Falco can't shine gimp him like fox? Its a big part of his game, and especially with everyone else's power being buffed, Yoshi is going to need a bit more bulk to take hits and respond.

Okay, yeah. I see that. I'll have to play around with super armor variables. I want something that's just broken enough but isn't outright unfun.
Still don't really want to rely on it tho

I feel like super armour is the wrong way to go. As you said, super armour is completely gimmicky and has no place in this. People are just suggesting super armour because its in project M and its similar to the DJC. Yoshi already has super armour and you want to give him more??!I would much prefer something that is actually compatible with the interests of yoshi players. Like giving him a unique bigger air dodge, faster ledge get ups and completely scrapping the side b and starting again. The side b is terrible please don't try and fix it. Just change the move.
